Synopsis: A newlywed immigrant finds herself insidiously kept captive by her mother-in-law after marrying a stranger over the phone. She loses all hope until a tutor is hired to teach her French. An atypical friendship is forged, secrets are revealed and one learns to demand more than the bare minimum.
